Dumaguete City is the Largest city in Negros Oriental province. Dumaguete who is althrough, known as "The City of Gentle People" is among the top 10 most visoted tourist destination in the philippines.

Especially tourist from, Europe like Dumaguete because of its proximity to cebu, beach resorts and dive sites and attraction like dolphin and whale watching in nearby Bais Bay. The Apo Island Marine Protected Area is consider as one the best dive sites in the world.

Apo Island is located 30km south of Dumaguete City and home to over 650 documented species and estimated over 400 species of coral.

But Dumaguete offers a lot in historic landmarks too. Visit the St. Catherine of Alexandria church popularly known as the Dumaguete Cathedral which was built in early 1700s or  the Dumaguete City hall which was built in 1907.
